HISTORY UNDER THREAT

members at a meetingOur aims

Our aim is to take actions that protect, maintain and enhance the social, architectural, environmental and visual amenity and character of the area.

What we do

As our aims indicate, the West Toowong Community Association Inc. takes an active role in issues affecting the area. These may impact upon the built (that is, housing, streetscapes and so on), natural (green spaces, creeks, established trees) or social (public transport, pedestrian access, community building) environments.

Actions may include lobbying relevant bodies for upgraded services or amenities, drafting and writing objections to development applications, providing or facilitating legal or other advice, liaising with other community groups in surrounding suburbs and further afield, petitioning Council, working to rehabilitate the natural environment, or recording the area’s history.
