"While I was repairing Walter Hill Memorial,I noticed the adjoining grave memorial of Thomas Kingsmill McCullough and saw the death date was Sunday 24th March 1872.

After some research I have discovered the Memorial was erected by Telegraph Officers of Queensland.

The story is that Thomas died at Creen Creek Telegraph Station which is SE of Normanton,N/W Qld, this is now a railway siding called Green Ck on Gulflander Tourist Line.

Thomas`s body was mumified and packed in dry sand for transport to Brisbane and buried a few months later at Toowong Cemetery in 1872.

His mother Martha was buried same grave and died Brisbane November12,1873 age 73yrs. William McCullough was Thomas`s father.
