One Tree Hill, Brisbane, Queensland

Horse and buggy, One Tree Hill (summer 1926 ) now changed to Mt. Coot-tha. People used to hire buggies or drive their own up for picnics. The track in the picture pretty much follows where the road to the summit goes to-day. Gravel track in those days.

One Tree Hill couple is Mum's elder sister Kathleen and husband Reg Harry. The building in the background is where the restaurant is now. It was a bit of a special outing to go up to the summit for picnics and the lookout, when on a clear day you could see the sand hills on Moreton Island and on a good night you could see the Cape Byron light flashing (one flash every 10 seconds).
